The weather is finally turning and it’s about time we shared the wonderful vegan products we’ve been loving for this month. We’ve got a mix of skincare, accessories, reads and haircare.
Reading: Riposte Magazine
The ‘smart magazine for women,’ Riposte is the perfect antidote to your glossies. Focusing on real people and real stories, you’ll definitely find something to inspire your journey. It’s one thing to have role models on social media, and another to take time out with a cup of tea and read about them in print. Keep an eye out for Riposte in your local independent magazine selections.
Treating the skin with: Mario Badescu Rose Water Spray
In an attempt to save our skin from winter damage (read about the winter skin repair saviours here) we’ve incorporated this into our skincare routine. Basically, any chance you get, spritz some on. It’s particularly helpful to reduce powderyness during or after makeup application – but isn’t filled with nasty toxins. The aloe and rosewater calms and hydrates the skin.
Treating the skin with: Purepotions Intensive Facial Oil
Discovering this brand has been amazing. On first glance, their products look nothing more than another range of natural skincare, but boy were we shocked. This facial oil has become a staple. It really hydrates and smooths the skin but doesn’t leave a greasy residue. This means you can apply it in the morning before makeup and not worry about it disrupting any products. They also have an oil cleanser and daily moisturiser which have become absolute musts too.
Wearing: Lovisa Tortoise shell earrings
Tortoise shell is huge this spring and an easy way to incorporate it into your wardrobe is with a pair of earrings. These earrings from Lovisa are minimal but make a statement.
Styling the hair with: Maria Nila Salty Cream
If you haven’t heard of Maria Nila yet, you need to look into them. They have an incredible range of cruelty free and vegan haircare. It’s non-toxic, smells amazing and never compromises quality. This Salty Cream and their dry shampoo are some of our favourites. Apply a small amount of this cream to your damp hair as styling and it’ll help to give it a little grip and texture – perfect for beachy waves this spring/summer.
Brushing our teeth with: Bamboo toothbrush
Using a bamboo toothbrush is an easy switch you can make to make your beauty routine a bit greener and more sustainable. There are so many bamboo toothbrushes available now so you’ll be able to find one that best suits you. The bristles are infused with charcoal – although after a few uses we’re not too sure how much of an effect this has. They work just as well as your regular toothbrush but aren’t adding to plastic waste once they’ve finished with.
